Story Time: Wild, Wild, Wild Encounter πŸ— πŸ† 🐘

Sometimes I long for places I don’t even know the existence.

Live to travel and explore. Discover & experience what the world has in store for you. Here are weirdly wild encounters I faced for three consecutive years.

Chikamangalore
2014

My whole family, cousins and close relatives decided to go somewhere for New Year. They decided to go to this place called Bilagili in Chikamangalore. (Place descrpition)
We decided to go there on December 31st and get back to Bangalore on the 1st of January.

So, it was a fun roadtrip from Bangalore to Chikamangalore.  The day was spent playing in the stream of water close to the property, running around and playing with cousins. On the night of 31st all of us sat around a bonfire chatting, laughing and enjoying. It was around 11:30 and suddenly all I noticed was the noise of a jeep coming towards us, the wood in the fire moving and as I turned to my left my cousin was on the ground and the thud! of his chair fallen far from the circle. What was it that had caused this ;;;;;

Now, let me explain in detail.
The noise and the light produced by the jeep, made a wild boar get scared. This mad it run blindly towards us. The poor creature ran over the bonfire without noticing it. The heat of the fire made it feel even more scared. Since my cousin was in it's way, it ended up ramming its way by pushing him off the chair. Then it was scared and ran very fast, it hit a pot and broke it and then eventually ran away. Then the people got out of the jeep with their gun running behind it, to see if they could have a good shot. It was dark and it had ran away, so they couldn't shoot it. It was pointless, pulling out a gun 🀦🏻‍♀️

Now focusing on my cousin, the wild boar's horn had dug its way through his thigh. He was laughing at the situation. Everyone was telling him that it was such an amazing way to start the new year.

Thank God! It wasn't worse and my cousin was such a champ about it.

We continued with the new years celebration.

Ooty
2015

This was another family road trip with all my favourite cousins. Ooty......describe....
We went to this place called Destiny Farms. This place wasjcncbjdbcidh

We stayed there for three days. We rode horses, painted pots, did some glass painting, caught some fishes & zipling. But the highlight of this trip was the trek and breathtaking view and scencery.

In the morning, the resort manager told us about a wooden cabin on the hill and the lake. He explained the route to the place. It was simple, so we all decided to go there by ourselves. So, we saw the cabin and reached the lake. We rested there for a while, took in the view. There were hills surrounding the magnificent lake and in the middle of the lake a small island. It was beautiful. I felt like jumping into the water and standing on that island.

While getting back we realized that there was two ways to go back to the resort. One, was the route we used while coming and the other was unknown. One of my uncles was like the second might be a short cut. Listening to this my older uncles and aunts, grandparents, and my parents were like "whatever" and they acted like they didn't even listen to my uncle and they moved on in the first route.

We curious and excited kids joined my extremely crazy uncle. It was around 7 kids and 3 adults with us. The second route was a gate that was opened. There was a path made by walking. So we followed. We followed the path, we walked and walked and walked. Now, everone knew that this was no shortcut. So we stopped, to see what we could do. Then suddenly out of now where my cousin was like "oh, look! there's a cat over there!" Then my other uncle who's into wildlife, was like that's no cat. "That's a Leopard." Then that crazy uncle started to walk towards it, he was like let's get a closer look. I pulled him and was like are you mad. Let's go back to the resort.

Thankfully we were more in number and leopard was far from us. As we continued on the path we saw an electric fence gate that was open and we could see the resort. Now, we were on the right path.

Once we all reached the gate and looked behind it was as if the leopard was following us.

Everyone was safe and no one was hurt. I think sometimes the best thing to do when encountering an animal, is not to do anything crazy and just back off. Don't threaten it.

Kerala-Karnataka Border Forest
2016

My family and I were off to Kerala from Bangalore. Now, the drive is beautiful and it also passes through a dense forest. The four of us in the car finally reached the forest entrance. But as we went further there was a long line of cars waiting. Like the forest isn't supposed to have traffic, there was always free slow of cars. Something was wrong.

As we moved forward, we saw a truck stopped in the side. The side window of the truck was broken and we also thought it had some problem so it was stopped. The driver also wasn't there. Slowly the cars in the front were moving. As we moved forward, we realised that at a distance there was a passenger bus that was stopped in the middle of the road and there were no vehicles after it.

The bus was stopped in such an angle that only one side of it was shown. The first thing that we was was a big elephant that was in the side that wasn't completely shown. It didn't seem chaotic, everything felt normal. In India even though people shouldn't stop and feed animals in the forest, they still do. So, we thought that was exactly what was happening. But as we continued observing, we saw that the backs of many people were popping out of the windows from the bus' side that was mostly shown towards us.

Now we knew that something was actually very wrong.
The elephant moved on to the victim.

We asked a few people who were out of there cars, as to what exactly that we saw. The men said this wild elephant attacked the bus. It put its truck into the windows therefore making the people move to the other side. The driver and the conducter of the bus ran away from the exit at the bottom of the bus.

As the elephant moved on to attack the next victim, who was a truck carrying cars. This we saw happening right in front of our car. The truck driver freaked out and the poor fellow was all alone. As the elephant put it's trunk through the truck (sorry for the poetic aliteration) the driver slide to the other side.
My dad took this chance and moved took a quick, sharp turn outlining the truck and escaping this mess.

I told my dad to talk to the forest guards about this notorious elephant. At the end of the forest. My dad told the forest guard that an elephant is creating a lot of havock, please do something about it. But the guards smiling reply was Sir this always happens everyday. *facepalm*
